Travel itinerary

Day 1
Arrival

Individual arrival in Reno and collection of your hire car. Then the journey to South Lake Tahoe. (Travel time approx. 1 hour.)

Day 2 - 4
Heavenly & Kirkwood

Spend 2 days skiing on the pistes of Heavenly and relish the fantastic views over Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine mountain lake in North America. Also, make sure to spend a day visiting the small yet impressive ski resort of Kirkwood, which is very popular among locals. (Travel time from South Lake Tahoe approx. 50 minutes.)

Day 5
Truckee

Today you can enjoy the journey to Truckee along the steel-blue Lake Tahoe. If you would like to take a break from sport today, the historic railway town is well worth a visit, offering a range of restaurants and little shops and radiating a special charm. (Travel time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes.)

Day 6
Northstar

The family-friendly yet challenging ski resort of Northstar, a real dream for freestylers and freeriders, is located just 15 minutes by car from Truckee. After you have let off some steam on or off the pistes, this evening a visit to one of the local beer breweries in Truckee is a must.

Day 7
Squaw Valley

Today you travel to an historic ski resort – Squaw Valley was the venue for the 1960 Olympic Games. It is located around 10 km from the western shore of the famous Lake Tahoe and is regarded as one of the most challenging resorts in California. (Travel time approx. 20 minutes.)

Day 8 - 9
Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows

Once again, take two days to explore the vast and diverse ski resort, including the adjacent Alpine Meadows. Deep snow lovers will find varying terrain in the back bowls.

Day 10
Napa or Sonoma Valley

After so much sporting activity you have earned some time to relax. Travel to the Napa Valley, past the capital city of California: Sacramento. A detour into the historic city centre is definitely worth it. (Travel time approx. 3 hours.)

Day 11 - 12
Napa or Sonoma Valley

Enjoy the mild climate of the Napa Valley. Play a round of golf on the first-class courses, recover in the hotel’s wellness area and make sure to taste the world-famous wines!

Day 13
San Francisco

Today you travel over the famous Golden Gate Bridge to San Francisco. Return of the hire car and individual journey home, or longer stay in the “Golden City”. (Travel time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes.)
