Klængshóll Lodge

The highest peak on the Troll Peninsula reaches 1,550 metres. You can ski down from it to the Atlantic coast against a stunning backdrop. The alpine ski area spans 4,000 square kilometres and offers a breathtaking landscape of mountains and fjords, with a sea view. Average snowfall in the mountains of Iceland is 1,000 cm, creating the ideal conditions for heli-skiing. Because of the location just below the Arctic Circle, the covering of snow is more stable than in other areas. This guarantees exhilarating runs on steep slopes. During the summer months, the midnight sun lights up the sky almost 24 hours a day. It’s one natural phenomenon after another in Iceland – northern lights, shooting stars, volcanic landscapes and untouched, fresh powder.

Jökull Bergmann is considered to be the pioneer of heli-skiing in Iceland. He converted and restored Klængshóll Lodge, which once belonged to his grandparents, into the ideal starting point for your winter sports adventure. The heliport is located right behind the large main building and some runs end at the lodge itself. You sleep in one of the four cabins with your own bathroom and open loft. The former barn now houses a ski workshop, gym and drying room, as well as a shop. The main building has a central living space with spacious dining room and more accommodation. The lodge’s gourmet chef will spoil you with regional culinary specialities. A small spa area with sauna, massage room, as well as outdoor pool on the terrace, will make your stay unforgettable.
